Dress Smart - Ritz London Style

Content Editor: Alice On

What to do when you need to dress formal AND spend all day Site-seeing?

For London’s cold and windy November, my first recommendation would be a pair of comfortable, smart walking shoes or boots. Not too formal, but still structured and stylish many brands have a selection of durable activity shoes. To be as comfy as possible on a full day of walking, look for something with a deep and roomy toe box region, the shoe should be a thumb width longer than the longest toe. In the rainy winter season I prefer waterproof low-heeled boots!

When it comes to attire, you will never be overdressed or under-dressed in black, the fashion gods’ durable gift to the all-day adventurer!

I would recommend a slightly-flared, medium length dress to allow more freedom of movement, especially while walking. The longer cut usually also creates a feminine, confident movement as well as an air of elegance.

When I dress in all black I usually accessorize with a light colour purse or accent pieces. For this look, less is more to highlight the drama and sophistication of the individual pieces!
