Born in 1990, Italian painter Sicioldr lives and works in Tuscania.
His subjects are “visions coming from the unconscious mind”
that he renders “using a blend of contemporary and traditional techniques”.
“I had the most terrible nightmares, they were terrifying,” the artist recalls. “I felt like there was an open portal in my head.”
About the inspiration behind his provocative surreal paintings, Alessandro Sicioldr says “My parents told me not to worry but I never wanted to go to bed because I had to return to that world. I was really afraid”.
After several years Sicioldr began to rid himself of his nightmare by transferring their image to canvas.
“The characters are neither good or bad. They are neither angry or happy. They are ambiguous.”
